JAM with DayJams in Long Island, Las Vegas, and Seattle!

DayJams is rockin’ the month of May with three Open House and Alumni Reunions happening across the country! If you're in Long Island, come to The Friends School in Westbury, NY, on May 3rd from 12–3 PM; on May 10th in Las Vegas, check out Faith Lutheran Jr/Sr High School from 1–3 PM; and in the Seattle area on May 18th, we'll be rockin' Forest Ridge School in Bellevue, WA, from 2–4 PM.

Teaching alongside WorkshopLive’s own Dave Martone, Satch will show you some amazing techniques. From whammy bar tricks to effects pedal tips and tapping licks, you’ll be able to learn the techniques that have made Joe Satriani a virtuoso.

WorkshopLive’s New Logo and Home Page

WllogoWorkshopLive is celebrating spring by giving our home page a facelift, and rolling out a brand new logo for the company.

Design guru Marc Weiner put the finishing touches on the new logo late last month, which is now being used company-wide. “The new logo design is intended to convey what we do best—provide top-notch lessons on a variety of popular instruments,” Weiner said.

Changes to WorkshopLive’s home page have largely been driven by subscriber requests and comments and are an ongoing process, according to Weiner, who has been a key player in implementing the site’s new skin.

NGW Brings Jam to the Bay Area

KrasnoIn 2007, the National Guitar Workshop debuted its first Jam Summit at the New Milford campus, which was embraced by enthusiastic students. This summer, the Jam Summit is being expanded to the San Francisco campus, giving West Coast students a chance to explore the places where rock, folk, jazz, funk, Latin, reggae, country, psychedelic, and free playing can meet, meld and morph. Top Jazz Artists at NGW this Summer

Sco_trioThe National Guitar Workshop has always been dedicated to presenting top-level guest artists to its students, and this summer’s jazz lineup is no exception. With the talent of Kenny Burrell and the John Scofield Trio, all jazz enthusiasts are in for a treat.

Kenny Burrell is among the handful of guitar greats who have forever changed the role of their instrument. He has been a jazz professional for 40 years and appeared on several hundred albums as leader and sideman. He will be a guest artist in Tom Dempsey’s Giants of Jazz Guitar seminar (July 5–10) at the Los Angeles campus. This class is a unique opportunity to experience the lineage of jazz guitar, as students will study the music and improvisation styles of many legendary jazz guitarists including: Charlie Christian, Wes Montgomery, Kenny Burrell, George Benson, Jim Hall, Joe Pass and Grant Green. It is sure to be a great experience.

Throughout its 25-year history, NGW has presented a wide variety of guest artists in all genres of music. The NGW experience allows students to have extraordinary access to amazing musicians through both master classes and clinics, providing the opportunity to learn from the very best.
