Last.fm is a web site that, like Pandora, tries to figure out what music you like to listen to. Unlike Pandora, which is based on on-line listening choices, Last.fm builds a music profile based on what you listen to on your computer or iPod (that’s called “scrobbling”). You can use that profile to create personal radio stations, recommend music to friends, make charts and quilts (not exactly sure what those are), connect to your MySpace space and do a bunch of other stuff that looks cool but otherwise escapes me. Looks like it might be a good way to discover new music on line.
