Music Access Program Debuts in U.K.
In international news, WorkshopLive has penned a deal with a major software supplier to schools throughout the United Kingdom. Osiris Educational, which has been supplying educational software for schools in England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales for the past ten years, approached WorkshopLive in March of this year, saying they were excited about the quality of WorkshopLive’s products.
“We specialize only in the highest quality and most innovative materials available, and I believe WorkshopLive fits perfectly into that category,” said Martin Hickerton, Osiris’ product development officer. Osiris will represent WorkshopLive’s presence in the U.K. school system, and has produced a brochure explaining WorkshopLive’s offerings to educators there, according to Hickerton.
Michael Thomas, WorkshopLive’s business development guru, said that he and Nathaniel Gunod, Chief Content Officer and Executive V.P. of Education, first met Osiris executives at an industry curriculum conference in California earlier this year.
“They saw our booth at the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development Conference in Anaheim, and walked up and engaged us in a wonderful conversation” Thomas said. “They are re-sellers of educational software to the U.K.’s schools, and they are very successful with that,” he added.
WorkshopLive executives traveled extensively around the U.S. earlier this year, working the educational conference circuit and touting WL’s new Music Access Program, which is designed as an interactive music education system for middle and high school students. The Music Access Program comes with teacher’s guides and a complete curriculum written to comply with MENC (Music Educators National Conference) national standards for teaching music.
“This arrangement with Osiris gets our foot in the door of the European marketplace, and puts our product right in front of educators in Wales, Scotland, England and Ireland. Osiris is uniquely positioned to assist us with our international marketing efforts” Gunod said.
Now, in addition to software giants Academic Superstore and Software Express selling to the U.S. school market, WorkshopLive is primed to gain market share in the 25,000 school U.K. educational system. Other international deals are also in the works according to WorkshopLive officials.
