The Workshop Group is Now Offering Great Deals
WorkshopLive made its debut in 2005, but our story goes all the way back to 1983, when our parent company, The National Guitar Workshop, started a residential summer music program for teenagers and adults, which has grown to eight locations around the country. These summer workshops are great ways to get a hands-on education from some of the best teachers around, and have even featured world-class performers such as Pat Metheny, George Lynch, Leo Kottke, Billy Sheehan, Stu Hamm, and more.
In 1999, the NGW founders started DayJams, a rock music summer day camp for youngsters age 8 to 15, which is now in 20 cities across the U.S. Over 30,000 NGW and DayJams students have had up-close and personal exposure to the best musicians and teachers found anywhere. DayJams students do more than just learn to play an instrument; they also have opportunities to write original songs, join a band, record a CD and of course, perform live onstage.
Over a million music lovers have learned from instructional books and DVDs written by many of NGW and DayJams teachers, which are produced by National Guitar Workshop Publications, another important part of the Workshop Group family.
Now, all of the Workshop companies are working together to increase the benefits available to our members. For instance, National Guitar Workshop and DayJams students get free access to WorkshopLive lessons. This means that there’s no wait until next summer to take lessons from some of the best teachers in the country. In addition, WorkshopLive members are offered tuition discounts toward the National Guitar Workshop. All these great deals mean more ways to access some of the best music education in the country.
