National Guitar Workshop partners with Performing Songwriter magazine for unique student opportunity.
The National Guitar Workshop, in association with Performing Songwriter magazine, is proud to announce a new Songwriting Summit at its Nashville campus this summer. Students in this summit will have the opportunity to study the art of songwriting with four of our veteran songwriting faculty members. In addition to daily Songwriting Intensive Sessions, Performance Seminars, and Song Swaps, students will have a number of special events during the week.
All students within the summit will have the opportunity to attend a master class with special guest Lisa Loeb, which will surely prove to be a special occasion.
One day of the week will consist of morning seminars dedicated to the songwriting business, led by leading industry professionals including Abby White, of Performing Songwriter Magazine, and Grammy Award winning songwriter Robert Lee Castleman. All aspects of the music business for songwriters will be covered in these seminars including: marketing and promoting your music, finding a record deal, copyright, publishing and much more. The afternoon will feature the NGW/Performing Songwriter Magazine Songwriting Contest, which will be adjudicated by the panelist from the morning session. The winner of this competition will receive a Martin guitar, and will be listed in Performing Songwriter Magazine. The preliminary round of this contest will take place at the Bluebird Café.
Upon completing the summit, all participants will walk away with a one-year’s subscription to Performing Songwriter magazine. For all of the aspiring songwriters out there, this is simply a week that cannot be missed.
