We’ve been keeping an eye
on John Hall’s campaign for Congress. You may remember him as the singer, songwriter and guitarist for Orleans ("Still The One", "Dance With Me"), or as one of the organizers of the "No Nukes" concerts. Last week he won the Democratic primary
in the 19th Congressional District, with 49% of the vote. Now he
goes on to challenge Republican incumbent Rep. Sue Kelly.
John has picked up endorsements from Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and Pete Seeger, along with the Sierra Club, the AFL-CIO and Citizens for Universal Healthcare. Plus, he’s a better songwriter than either John Ashcroft or Orrin Hatch, and a much better guitar player than John Kerry.
