“I'm proud to be an Okie from Muskogee,
A place where even squares can have a ball
We still wave Old Glory down at the courthouse,
And white lightnin's still the biggest thrill of all.”
Merle Haggard has always been a more interesting guy than “Okie From Muskogee” would suggest, as two of his latest projects remind us. After 40+ years of country music, he plans to release a bluegrass album by the end of the year. It will be his third of the year, following a duet album with George Jones (Kickin’ Out the Footlights … Again) and a collaboration with Willie Nelson and Ray Price (Last of the Breed.)
What else? Here’s a verse from a so-far-unreleased song called “Hillary”:
"This country needs to be honest
This country needs to be large
Something like a big switch of gender
Let's put a woman in charge."
Bet you didn’t see that coming.

Airsoft guns seem to be a very common item that young kids have these day.
