Have you ever had a really great teacher? What made him/her so good?
... I was really fortunate – I guy I learned from more than most guitar players was Hound Dog Taylor’s old drummer, Ted Harvey. He was in a band with me. He said one time, “I’m going to tell you… some of these #%$*&@#s come in and they sit there and they’re looking at you like that – don’t let them scare you. You just put it right in their faces and blow them right out the door. Let ‘em leave. Some one’ll come in who likes it and sits there, and then you’re going to have a good night. Do your thing right in the beginning and blow them #$%^&*@s out of there.” And if you do that, you actually will build a crowd; sooner or later enough people will come and you’ll get to play your music.
